Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level USAF E7/P8 Wire Design Engineer to join our team in Tukwila, WA. As a member of the E7 or P8 Wiring Integrated Product Team (IPT) you will be working in a highly dynamic team environment. You will have the opportunity to integrate with the full production value stream, from Engineering to Shop Floor, to successfully execute both post-production modification and well as standard production to the E7 or P8 aircraft.

Wiring is the integration point between the physical aircraft structure and the mission systems capability. As a result, the wiring team gets the opportunity to interface and integrate with almost every other design IPT. This gives a great opportunity to experience and learn about the whole aircraft and its systems. Your primary focus in this role will be on the design and maintenance of the wire harness details and assembly to meet system performance requirements. This will involve integration with the system owners as well as the wire installation team who physically integrates the harness into the aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Investigates and resolves manufacturing related issues including support to root cause identification as well as NCR dispositions.
  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Communicate through listening, verbal and written.
  • Work in dynamic work setting.
  • Consistently multi task and prioritize work statement.
  • Patience and resilience in an environment of dynamic change.
  • Flexibility, initiative, detail orientation, ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new areas.


This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by June 2023


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
  • Electrical/ Electronics Engineering degree
  • Experience with wire bundle fabrication concepts, wire installation, electrical equipment installation, or installation of wiring provisions
  • Experience working in an engineering (or similar) environment
  • Experience or familiarity with aircraft design and airplane systems


Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
