ENTRY LEVEL- PRODUCTION WORKER- START ASAP-$15.50-16/HR- PORTAGE, IN

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
load and unload materials
-ability to read production schedule
-read customer order to determine where product should be moved, gathered, and serviced
-regularly lift 10-15lbs
-occasionally lift 50+ lbs
-assist in assembly of seat frames
-maintain high paced production
-they will switch between multiple stations
-scan material as it is unloaded from trucks
-work off ford build sheet
-10-15 different seat frame variations
-match frames to specific bar code
-torque screws
-add seats to pallets
-bag seat frames with tags
-test seat functions work by making sure they move forward etc
PAY AND SHIFT
2nd shift 4:30pm-4am Mon-Thursday - $16/hr
(OT is also available)
QUALIFICATIONS
Prefers:
-Manufacturing or fast paced work experience
-the ability to work on their feet for 10 hours per day
-proven attendance at previous jobs
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This facility supplies the seat frames directly to Lear in Hammond. It is a larger facility with 10+ production lines that will utilize conveyor systems to move the frames through the assembly process. It is a NON- temperature controlled environment which means when it is hot out it will be hot inside. They will keep the bay doors open and utilize fans to try and keep cool. They have 200 hourly employees split between 2 different shifts. They opened this location only a year ago. They are looking for long term workers with an emphasis on attendance and reliability.
ALL BREAKS ARE PAID- which mean the employees can not leave the facility until the end of their shift. They have a nice break room for them to keep their lunches and new vending machine that provides lunches.
