We are searching for a technically talented operator interested in developing and refining their skills by working with CNC machines, CNC machining center and manual lathes.
Job Summary: Entry level Machinist who will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines, manual lathes, and manual milling equipment. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical comprehension, have hands-on experience in machining processes, as well as familiarity with CAD software, reading blueprints, measuring and troubleshooting. The Machinist will work closely with production teams to ensure the accurate and efficient production of machined components.
This is a first shift role: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines, vertical turret lathe, manual lathes, and manual milling equipment according to job specifications and quality standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve machining issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep accurate records of production activities, including job setups, run times, and material usage.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in machining technology.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining preferred.
- Strong math background
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing.
- Interpreting technical drawings.
- Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for creating machining programs and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Knuth VDM, Haas CNC
- Knowledge of CAD software
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
