Your Impact:
As a junior estimator, you will work under the direction of a senior estimator to gain knowledge of estimating commercial, and industrial projects. Prior estimating experience is not required however, relative educational major associated with the position is preferred. Candidates will have the opportunity to grow and work on diverse projects nationwide. In addition, you will work with a team of highly qualified cost professionals to build your knowledge and help you grow as a cost estimating professional.
Prospective candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and must be able to work in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
Ability to analyze construction drawings and specification to determine scope of work
Complete training on civil, structural, and architectural disciplines of estimating by a senior estimator
Complete training on electrical and controls by a senior electrical estimator
Ability to write a basis of estimate documenting estimating approach and assumptions
Prepare detailed take-offs using Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff and eTakeoff.
Assist in the development and maintenance of historical cost data for benchmarking
Accurately estimate costs related to labor, materials and equipment for given scope of work
Prepare cost estimates from conceptual design through detail final construction documents
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Minimum 0-3 years’ experience in construction cost estimating
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Experience with BIM Model used for quantity takeoff
Good technical writing skills
Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
Working knowledge of Sage Estimating Software is a plus
