As an Entry LevelCAD Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our engineers and designers in the creation and modification of civil engineering drawings and plans. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional and collaborative environment.
Position Summary:
Will convert sketches into AutCAD drawings based on input provided by the engineering staff. Assist with preparing engineering and construction drawings for projects related to repaving streets, therefore must be able create, modify, and annotate planes and surfaces. Will create alignments, plans, and profiles with the goal of eventually learning how to create pipe networks.
Primary duties:
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop detailed civil engineering drawings and exhibits using CAD software.
- Assist in the modification and revision of existing drawings and plans.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
- Perform quality control checks on drawings to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate and coordinate with team members to meet project deadlines.
- Keep up to date with the latest CAD software and industry trends to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Secondary duties:
When not working on the above, the successful candidate will help scale PDF files, scan, store and organize plans in the company's file network, print reports and on occasion may assist engineers or inspectors out in the field.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree from a technical or four-year school in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is necessary.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with ArcGIS
- Familiarity with coordinate systems
- Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D
- Must be able to develop alignments, plans and profiles.
- Ability to use data references in plan sheets.
