Analytics and Integrated Planning:
The Analytics and Integrated Planning (AIP) division is the official source of UCF institutional Data and provides accurate, insightful, and actionable information to the university and the public. AIP brings expertise in strategic data planning, advanced analysis, reporting, and institutional research to the university, with the purpose of leveraging institutional Data and enhancing analytics to enable robust decision-making across the institution.
The Opportunity:
The Analytics and Integrated Planning division at University of Central Florida is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Enterprise Data and BI Architect II. The Enterprise Data and BI Architect II oversees Enterprise Data and business intelligence environments, including application design, development, testing, and security administration. They are responsible for the design, maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of university data warehouses and analytics environments.
Classification Title: Business Intelligence and Analytics Specialist II
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and support of the university cloud-based data warehouse and corresponding data marts.
- Conducts verification and validation of data uploads into the data warehouse.
- Assists in creating new or enhanced data warehouse components.
- Demonstrated ability in cloud-based platforms, such as MS Azure Cloud or similar technologies.
- Creates, analyzes, and validates detailed functional specifications of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
- Builds and implements solutions to support data ingestion, processing, and visualization of metrics.
- Translates analytics, Business Intelligence, and visualization requirements into technical specifications; creates semantic layer, metadata, and report definitions.
- Works with users in the use of analytical tools to enhance decision-making capability.
- Develops and maintains documentation.
- Builds data models leveraging skill in data ingestion, manipulation, and curation.
- Identifies associations between data objects and enforces business rules.
- Ensures performance optimization and data integrity.
- Troubleshoots environment and data structures.
- Assists with maintaining user information access security.
- Provides technical support, mentoring, and training for users.
- Creates testing methodology and criteria.
- Assists with the production of technical reports and documentation.
- Contributes to data governance documentation, specifically related to data lineage.
- Coordinates with Enterprise Analytics personnel to define the issue, scope a project, and validate findings.
- Participates in requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand the purpose behind the research questions and/or the area seeking insights.
- Provide subject matter expertise on data engineering and data modeling.
- Highlights data patterns for further analysis by the data scientists.
- Other tasks as needed to support the division.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced skills in SQL and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
- Experience in designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines and architectures, with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
- Proficiency in code migration and branching strategies.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Prior experience in data engineering or related roles.
