- Lead the long range planning for the structure and interaction of the enterprise's major types/sources of data, information needs, and business processes/strategy
- Responsible for decisions/priorities regarding the overall enterprise's architecture
- Translate business needs into architectural solutions (current and target state) and defining solutions to problems through application of information technology
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards/guidelines that direct integration of multiple platforms
- Develop/document the framework for integration/implementation for changes to architectural standards
- Determine architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and security needs
- Provide technical guidance to project team. Coach the development of Jr. IT architects
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:
- Major project leadership experience, presentation skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Experience working with and deploying systems which incorporate best practice principles, patterns, and tools
- Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment and interact with resources from technical and non-technical organizations
- Multi-task oriented / critical thinking
- Broad knowledge of FedEx (or Transportation and Logistics industry) business concepts and IT capabilities, and Customer Automation knowledge
- Strong understanding of business capability management strategies and solutions with hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering solutions
- Experience working with business and IT architects in requirements analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Sparx, IRIS Business Architect or other similar tools)
- Application, Technical Architecture implementation patterns
- Knowledge of Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK) and The Open Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or other architectural framework
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and architecture practice experience
Job Specific Information
The person filling this position will serve on the Commercial Portfolio Review Team (PRT) to analyze and Architect Enterprise / Commercial Portfolio initiatives, identify Strategic Themes, Ability To statements (AB2's) and provide Architecture Runway recommendations to align the Commercial Portfolio with other Portfolios on Business Value delivery roadmaps. Additional duties include working with Solution Delivery Teams to translate Enterprise / Portfolio level architectural guidance into actionable Solution Delivery tasks. This role requires understanding of the impact and influence of broader industry and technology trends on the strategic business vision to recommend action plans cross FedEx Operating Companies and to FedEx Leadership. This position works to develop an integrated view of the portfolio and repeatable approach to provide insights to enable better prioritization and investment decisions.
Work Location(s)/Domicile:
Position will be hybrid in Collierville, TN, Colorado Springs, CO, Plano, TX, Orlando, FL or Coraopolis, PA and candidates must live within a reasonable commutable distance. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees must be onsite as directed by leadership but allows team members flexibility to work from home otherwise.
