Responsible for preparing, processing, and consulting with customers regarding the completion of Payer defined Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Enrollment forms to process provider’s healthcare transactions across Optum’s electronic healthcare payer network.

Candidates will field and respond to customer inquiries across the various service channels: phone, chat, email, and online support portal. Customers could be provider end-users, administrators, vendors, and insurance carriers. Candidate is expected to research and resolve reported issues within organizational metric targets.

Successful candidates must have strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, organizational and analytical skills. He or she must be able to prioritize and manage numerous projects/issues, while building and maintaining positive customer and payer relationships.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 4 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, processing, and maintaining enrollment forms in accordance with Payer rules and internal processing metrics/SLAs.
  • Analyzes problems with failed/rejected enrollment forms.
  • Correspondence with customers and Payers to verify enrollment form status.
  • Assist customers with Enrollment tools/access/self service capabilities.
  • Initiate changes to increase or change workflows to drive quality and productivity.
  • Manage assigned Implementation projects and associated customer Go-Live deadlines in accordance with team procedures and policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 1+ years of remote call center experience
  • 1+ years of healthcare customer service experience.
  • Experience interacting with clients or customers in a professional setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, 08:00AM – 05:00PM CST
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Hawaii / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.54 - $32.55 per hour.
