EL (English Language) Teacher, Battle Born Academy
Battle Born Academy is a K-8 public charter school focused on building a joyful community of learners. Our students experience hands-on learning in a supportive environment where they can all thrive. We focus primarily on project-based learning (PBL), social-emotional learning (SEL), and restorative practices. We are currently seeking a passionate, highly-effective EL Teacher (sometimes called ELL, Emergent Bilingual, TESOL, or ELAD) to deliver high-quality instruction to English Learners and improve outcomes for all students.
Job Description
Instructional staff at Battle Born Academy are charged with carrying out the culture, academics, and relationships that define our model. Battle Born Academy leverages a project-based learning approach where ELA, math, science, and social studies are integrated into a single project block. Teachers unleash their skills to support students as they lead their own learning. Essential teaching practices include relationships, engaging content, differentiation, proactive management, and restorative justice.
EL Teachers work specifically with students who are learning English to improve their comprehension and proficiency, creating an environment that allows them to develop academically and socially. EL Teachers use a combination of push-in and pull-out support to ensure students are learning and growing.
