Job Summary

The English Department at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) seeks applicants for Assistant Professor positions beginning August 1, 2024.
GGC emphasizes a student-centered learning environment and applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to student success. We are an institution that values innovative teaching and expects active participation in student engagement, and service to the college and community. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty.
Successful candidates for the Assistant Professor position will teach a 4/4 load of primarily lower-division and some upper-division courses. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to participate in scholarly activities.
The successful candidates will join a highly collegial department of faculty who share a deep commitment to the access-oriented mission of the college, and regularly engage in social as well as professional activities together.

Required Qualifications

Terminal degree in English; or a terminal degree a related field with 18 graduate credits in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in English.
3 years college level teaching experience.
Strong preference may be given to applicants with a background in Professional Writing and Journalism.
Strong preference may be given to applicants with a background in Technical Writing and Journalism.
