Engineering Technician -Nights

Engineering Technician (night shift) | Buffalo Grove, IL | DIRECT HIRE

Pay: $40-45/hr (+10% differential for nights)
Shift: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am rotating schedule (3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off)

Volt is partnering with a leading manufacturer for the medical device industry. In this role you will support engineering services with automated manufacturing systems. This involves installation, testing and qualification of new equipment along with some troubleshooting of complex manufacturing equipment.

You bill be in charge of:

• Performing complex engineering tests, checkouts, and development of engineering tasks.
• Analyzing engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems.
• Collects data, analyzes results and implements procedures.
• Document equipment issues and propose robust solutions
• Use of advanced problem-solving techniques to address issues with machines and processes
• Support creation of engineering documentation required to implement changes and improvements
• Provide ongoing manufacturing support
• Drive activities to improve OEE (Overall equipment effectiveness) of equipment
• Being the SME (subject matter expert) in assigned work area with designated equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10 years’ experience in medical device/pharmaceutical/biotech/food & beverage manufacturing.
• Experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex manufacturing equipment.
• Experience in a technology-based industry, where automated assembly techniques are utilized.
• Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotics, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Able to follow at Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or formal technical training.
