SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV in Bedford, IN to support the U.S. Navy.
Job Duties Include:
- Reading engineering drawings and using hand tools and power tools to assemble according to drawings.
- Loading and unloading semi-trucks and moving large equipment and pallets.
- Integrating system components, modifying systems and working with other team members on completing tasking in a safe and effective manner
- Using technical manuals to install and do basic operational testing of equipment
- Develop Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) for new equipment and systems upgrades
- Wiring systems according to schematics and testing electrical circuits
- Maintaining inventory of equipment and material related to program and reporting status back to project team
- Developing work cards and assist with processes for integration and production of tactical systems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's Degree in related discipline and 6 years of experience; Additional experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Able to analyze and implement procedures and processes for effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the programs and/or project
- Mechanical and electrical assembly experience
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Proficient at reading and understanding engineering diagrams and wiring diagrams for builds
- Work in an excel type database for inventory management
- Knowledge of technical documentation, specifications, standards, procedures, technical/engineering reference books, tests, and publications for integration, testing and fielding of tactical systems
- Able to research things not known about or understood
- Willing to work in small teams and lead personnel in day to day work
