NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a “learning machine” that constantly evolves by adapting to new opportunities that are hard to resolve, that only we can seek, and that matter to the world. This is our life’s work, to amplify human inventiveness and intelligence. NVIDIA is seeking a Engineering Technician to build, debug and support global HW infrastructure for silicon validation. The complex nature of the hardware creates interesting challenges. Therefore, someone with a solid understanding and innovative thinking is required to support meeting critical breakthroughs. As part of the Silicon Solutions Team, we are responsible for productizing NVIDIA's chips into groundbreaking consumer, professional, server, mobile and automotive solutions.
What Will You Be Doing:
Lead and coordinate setups, configure and maintain lab machines consisting of GPUs, CPUs and SoCs collectively call HW farm
Setup and operate lab equipment such as scopes, thermal solutions, debugger systems, data acquisition systems as needed for testing and debug.
Manage SW components of systems with various operating systems, performance and stress testing tools, and client installations.
Conduct sanity runs on farm systems to ensure accurate thermal and power levels before releasing to users
Work with multiple SW automation tools to execute silicon, system test plans and help identify or fix simple script issues
Perform first level debug to isolate issues at both hardware (GPU board, motherboard and HW peripherals) and software levels (OS, Drivers, Firmware, etc.)
Independently handle a group of systems in the test farm to ensure uninterrupted operation, assist in debug of basic PCB or chip issues, document observations and report to engineers
Provide critical support, collaboration with infrastructure, facilities, and hardware rework lab groups
Coordinate with multiple silicon functional teams to enable smooth operation of the HW Farm
Maintain and send detailed reports on the status of machines in the farm.
What We Need to See:
BS degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant industry experience
In-depth knowledge of various motherboard platforms, SoCs, PC HW such as graphic cards, memory and storage
Familiarity with modular and cross-platform display driver branches.
Basic knowledge of scripting and coding is required.
Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with the team.
Excellent problem solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Prior experiences in managing hardware, lab setups and software issues in the lab.
Background with handling lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers)
