The cell engineering team is looking for a technician to assist with Cell Materials R&D. Candidates should be familiar with and comfortable working with wet-chemistry in a lab setting. Candidates should be open to learning new skills with on-the-job training. The ideal candidate would also have hands-on experience with Li-ion cell development in an industry or academic setting.
What You’ll DoAssemble coin cells and pouch cells for testing
- Prepare Cell Materials (electrodes, raw materials, etc.) and assemblies for testing
- Work with engineers to design, set-up and execute testing procedures
- Operate analytical equipment for materials characterization and electrochemical testing
- Document, compile and analyze data and test reports and communicate results with the Tesla team
- 2+ years working in a technical position with experience in a laboratory setting
- Experience in assembling battery cells (e.g., coin-cells)
- Familiarity with cell testing equipment (e.g., poteniostats and cyclers from Biologic, Gamry, Arbin, etc.)
- Must be hands-on and have good dexterity (you will be handling small parts in a glove box)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Meticulous attitude in data tracking, observation and note taking

$24.00 - $65.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
