SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join their facility in Redmond, OR. This position is a contract with an expected duration of 4 months.

This role is full-time on-site. The pay range is $80K - $100K.
Primary Function:
The Technical Writer is responsible for writing SIGMADESIGN product and technical documentation for end users. Includes updating and maintaining existing documentation, writing FAQ and help articles, and performing peer reviews of content.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing operations in the creation, proofing and composition of standardized technical documentation in timely manner to align with project schedule.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of product and documentation requirements.
- Produce documentation for client projects. Documentation may include but is not limited to procedures, reports, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, assembly manuals, work instructions, user guides, tutorials, application notes, and detailed test plans.
- Identify first-hand where users might experience difficulty or have questions.
- Work to clarify existing documentation while identifying and avoiding potential pitfalls and ambiguity
- Convert technical information into easily understandable content.
- Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts and animations to increase end user understanding.
- Assist department managers in documenting process improvements.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- Associate's Degree preferred
- Previous experience working in Engineering and/or Manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with electromechanical systems, control systems, safety systems, pneumatics, and/or software product testing environments preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with engineering (mechanical, controls, and electrical) drawings/specifications, experience with CAD software and Bill of Materials preferred.
- Familiarity with a number of regulatory standards may include but not limited to UL508a, NFPA79, UL61010, NEC, SEMI S2, and SEMI S8 preferred.
- Capable of identifying common functionality questions for internal teams and users
- Ability to plan, organize, develop and maintain customer-facing documentation
- Ability to distill complicated technical information into clear and concise instructions for end users
- Maintain consistent style and tone throughout guides and documentation
- Ability to exercise independent judgement
- High levels of organization, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group

- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to pass a post-offer background verification
Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to work in other facilities, clients or supplier's manufacturing environments.
