About the position
Crossroads Photonics works in close collaboration with three European Laser Technology manufacturers (APE, CryLaS and LTB). We have an opening for a person who has a scientific or optical engineering background, and an interest to build a business segment in a flexible work environment. The role allows you to act as a bridge between some of the world’s best photonics firms and leaders in research and development, with applications in academia, industry and government.
You will be in charge of a business segment and the associated client base in order to drive business growth. Through value adding interactions with Laser Technology manufacturers and users, you will be involved in interesting projects and personally benefit from the business expansion.
With the authority and responsibility to handle and manage customer inquiries, you will apply your solid knowledge base in Laser Technology and its applications to create a superior customer experience based on technical expertise, responsiveness and consistency.
The offered position for a Technical Sales and Support Engineer, Laser Technology, will be at the heart of Crossroads Photonics’ mission: bringing the best Laser Technology to the most advanced applications.
We work with several manufacturers (clients) on projects regarding business and technical development, product distribution, customer support and product service. Clients include leading manufacturers of non-linear optics products (wavelength conversion, OPO, OPA systems etc.), laser diagnostic instruments (e.g. optical energy meters, spectrometers, autocorrelators, FROG, SPIDER), UV lasers and ultrafast lasers.
Our customers work in such fields as spectroscopy, microscopy, life and health science, quantum physics and information technology, laser based material processing and bio-chemical analytics.
You will be supported by experienced business professionals locally, along with technical experts at our client factories. You will be located in the US and enjoy a flexible and unique work environment with high income potential.

- Use your excellent technical background when consulting and Supporting customers pre and post sales.
- Thrive on successfully closing new business opportunities and customer inquiries.
- Demonstrate diligence working with an existing CRM system. This requires efficient and consistent transaction tracking and customer support documentation.
- Generate new customer interest and respond to customer inquiries by email and telephone. Issuance of service and sales quotations.
- Perform demonstrations, briefings and customer training; in person, via teleconference (remote session), or in written form, such as email.
- Write and maintain documentation of service work performed and communication with customers.
- Travel primarily for work with customers in North America, participating in conferences, trade shows and trainings.
Your qualifications and traits
- Entrepreneurial approach to navigate a complex technical and business environment.
- Interest and ability to develop a strong business acumen.
- Practical experience in building / aligning of lasers and optical components.
- Masters (or higher) degree in science related to optical or laser technologies.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Able to travel internationally.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
