What the job involves:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our team. During the internship, the intern would support the larger team with Playbook and Operating Procedures development, troubleshoot tips and tricks, protocols for system health checks, and work order control. In addition, the intern will have a key role working with operational teams to improve the overall performance and energy efficiency of the systems at a large corporate campus. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad and technical experience in various aspects of Facility Management and Commercial Real Estate
The interns will have the opportunity to work with and learn from the following senior facilities engineers and management professionals :
Aerospace Facilities Engineer
  • Performs technical and general maintenance work on a variety of facilities and building equipment, systems, structures, and hardware, including air handlers, domestic water, chilled water, hot water, steam, humidification, building exhaust, compressed air, controls, lighting, electrical, etc. Works with field instruments to measure temperature, humidity, pressure, flow and level.
  • Repairs, replaces, and adjusts building process controls system equipment and instrumentation.
  • Completes preventive maintenance (PMs) as assigned including performing general maintenance and repairs.
  • Learn and demonstrate appropriate alarm responses to common PLC initiated alarms.
  • Exposed to commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Distribution Warehouse Operating Engineer
  • Performs technical and general maintenance material handling equipment including, conveyors, forklifts, packaging equipment, and various types of dock equipment.
  • Assists senior leadership with equipment trending, data analysis, and process improvement.
  • Supports engineering and facilities team with work order completion as assigned.
  • Learn and demonstrate appropriate alarm responses to common building alarms.
  • Exposed to commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Facilities Management Professional
  • Support facility leaders with site quality, safety, and condition assessments
  • Assist site program managers with equipment isolation validations
  • Engage with facilities team on innovation and process improvement initiatives
  • Use industry leading proprietary maintenance management software in support of life cycle asset management and sustainability initiatives.

  • Dates: June 3rd, 2024 - August 9th, 2024
  • Location: Dallas, TX | Onsite

Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Students pursuing a degree or certification in facilities management, property technology, environmental studies, engineering, or any trade equivalent program are eligible to apply.
    • This includes current undergraduate students, as well as those enrolled in trade schools or vocational programs that offer qualifications equivalent to an undergraduate degree in the aforementioned fields.
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills - interest in analyzing data
  • Able to think critically and problem solve
  • Strong knowledge of PC, Windows, Internet applications. Word and Excel is a must
  • Adept to learning new programs
  • Willing to travel locally
