Engineering Project Team Leader, Caterpillar Inc., Pontiac, IL
Multiple openings.
Will serve in a team lead position and will be specifically responsible for providing engineering analysis of product design, development, quality, reliability, & materials for diesel engines & components & alternative power systems; will provide technical guidance on product design issues such as material selection, durability, reliability, cost and quality; will develop designs & drawings using 3D modeling software; will collaborate with suppliers & internal manufacturing; will test and verify implementation in factory; will analyze test data & calibrate to meet requirements; will resolve issues, ensuring delivery on schedule, cost, & quality commitments.
Position requires a Masters degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience performing mechanical design engineering for engine systems that impact internal combustion engine performance. Position also requires 5 years of engine systems testing experience for internal combustion engines, including planning, test set-up, execution, data acquisition, data analysis, and trade-off evaluation of test results; performing testing data collection using AVL Concerto, Canape & DatK; performing data analysis using Minitab, PowerBI, & Tableau for summary, visualization, and decisions making; and utilizing mechanical design engineering tools and technologies, including specifically: CREO solid-modeling, PRWB, Teamcenter, GD&T, and DFMEA.
Alternatively, will accept a Bachelors degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a closely related field and 7 years of experience performing mechanical design engineering for engine systems that impact internal combustion engine performance. Position also requires 5 years of engine systems testing experience for internal combustion engines, including planning, test set-up, execution, data acquisition, data analysis, and trade-off evaluation of test results; performing testing data collection using AVL Concerto, Canape & DatK; performing data analysis using Minitab, PowerBI, & Tableau for summary, visualization, and decisions making; and utilizing mechanical design engineering tools and technologies, including specifically: CREO solid-modeling, PRWB, Teamcenter, GD&T, and DFMEA.
