Job Summary
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing engineering, tooling and maintenance departments, including development and implementation of processes and equipment for assembly of products.
- Leads Manufacturing team in the launching of new and transfer programs in the facility, including monitoring schedules, costing new products, overseeing line and station design.
- Manages plant facility department, including plant layout and facility maintenance.
- Ensures all manufacturing engineers have the necessary skills to perform their tasks.
- Ensures all processes do not prevent any health or safety risks.
- Develops and maintains the engineering change system.
- Develop production standards that are reasonable but challenging.
- Responsible for the plant’s current footprint and understanding the plant’s Responsible for APQP documentation.
- Support new programs with plant program managers.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining all ODS sheets, PFMEA;s and PM sheets for all products.
- Responsible for program reviews.
- Manage CAR budgets.
- Manage department budget.
- Responsible for developing BOM’s and routings for new programs.
- Responsible to ensure equipment suppliers build to Company specifications.
- Responsible for developing CAR costing.
- Responsible for analyzing available capacity by line.
- Communicate with mechanisms engineering on plant needs.
- Responsible for reviewing cost information on current production product changes.
- Plan and manage departmental budgets for labor and purchased burden.
- Participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety observation audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.
- Comply with all BOS, ISO/IATF-16949 and Customer Specific requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Good communication Skills both written and verbal
- 3 to 5 years Engineering Manager experience
- Strong technical background
- A Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification
- Experience in managing others and resolving conflicts.
- Welding and assembly experience preferred.
