FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION

KTVU FOX 2 is seeking a Broadcast Engineering Manager who is equal parts personable, detail oriented, and self-motivated with a desire to be part of the station's best in class team! Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of on-air product, equipment, and systems in the studio, at the transmitter, and at all remote sites by performing the following duties:
- Oversees preventative and corrective maintenance for all TV systems and equipment.
- Sets Master Control (MCR) and engineering procedures and policies with the approval of VP of Engineering.
- Oversees maintenance of ancillary equipment and operations, including station and transmitter site generators and building systems, as well as oversee the operations needs of closed captioning, emergency crawls, EAS tests and alerts, pop-ups and local or national cut-ins.
- Liaison with other departments whose procedures affect our on-air product, including Traffic, Sales, Accounting, Creative Services, Production and News
- Maintains daily Engineering, MCR logs, transmitter logs and quality control reports.
- Oversees and order equipment parts required for proper maintenance and on-air operation.
- Assists in keeping Engineers current in their maintenance and operational abilities.
- Determines priorities for repair part purchasing.
- Assists in obtaining proposals for new equipment, up to making recommendations for those purchases.
- Assists in three-year capital plan and building plan.
- Assists in FCC compliance.
- Scheduling and Payroll
- Backup for maintaining FCC license notebook.
- Coordinates with other departments for proper maintenance of station equipment and scheduling.
- Purchases expendables for station consumption.
- Respond to emergencies whenever needed.
- Demonstrates responsibility for any and all equipment issued by FOX.
- Understand, train, and perform the operation of station systems including iTX.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in broadcasting, electronics, computer science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Five years of progressive experience in broadcast technology, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Understanding of and commitment to the requirements of a 24/7/365 live news operation, including responding to after-hours calls.
- Comprehensive understanding of broadcast television production workflows.
- Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in a union environment is strongly preferred.
SBE and IT certifications considered a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $100,000.00-103,361.44 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
