RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effective project management, with focus on budget, timeline, and contingency planning.
- Leads a team researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.
- Designs, suggests, and performs modifications and upgrades on equipment.
- Oversees employee development for a diverse team and meets to review progress and ensure continued growth. Identifies knowledge deficiencies and provides training as needed.
- Identifies equipment needs, researches and selects vendors, requests capital, and completes documents required for purchasing.
- Develops, investigates, tests, documents and trains employees on equipment standardized work.
- Analyzes production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to produce KPI’s to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process and refines processes accordingly.
- Supports the maintenance and reliability culture focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance.
- Ensures operational efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair.
- Responsible for manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals, and managing the department budget.
- Ensures that the company’s manufacturing guidelines follow state/government laws and regulations.
- Documents manufacturing procedures to be utilized in automotive standards (IATF).
- Develops and implements continuous improvement and cost reduction proposals.
- Promotes and follows all safety guidelines and procedures. Recommends safety improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-8 years’ experience in management, engineering, and maintenance.
- Strong people management.
- Multi-site management
- Receptive and supportive of change. Demonstrated management of change success.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to work in a “hands-on” environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to recognize feasibility of designs.
- Demonstrated team building capability - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including technical writing); ability to listen, provide feedback and motivate others.
- Strong Project Management skills (budget, timeline, contingency).
- Ability to interpret blueprints; operate precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team or individual environment.
- Effective interaction with employees at all levels of organization.
- Demonstrate independent initiative.
- Design of experiments (DOE) knowledge preferred.
