The Engineering Manager has numerous responsibilities as listed below. This position interacts closely with all business functions in a team environment. In this role, you will lead the engineering team which is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, designing tooling and fixtures, supporting Lean and continuous improvement activities, supporting production by resolving product quality issues due to process, tooling, or equipment issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead process improvement efforts in support of quality and cost improvements.
- Provide leadership for and development of direct reports by establishing priorities, accountabilities and allocating resources: guiding achievement of performance measures.
- Develop a multidisciplinary team of professionals with a commitment to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in a high volume fast paced and safe working environment utilizing state of the art manufacturing, inspection, and plating operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and activities. Identify and recommend new technologies which could include equipment, processes, or practices.
- Identify KPVs for manufacturing processes and develop control plans and methods.
- Determine specific departmental goals, objectives, and action plans to support company goals and schedules.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Deep knowledge and experience with using disciplined engineering problem solving approaches to solve complex technical problems.
- Experience with direct management of engineers in a manufacturing environment with a track record of high performance.
- Knowledge of thermal manufacturing processes
- Experience with both manual and automated process equipment
- Knowledge of glass to metal sealing (GTMS) and Hight Temperature Co-fired Ceramics (HTCC) is a plus.
