Job Description
** Summary:**
Aid in the design and construction of prototype units of new products and modifications to standard products and coordinate the testing and fabrication of necessary parts. Assist in maintaining the functionality and appearance of the Engineering Laboratory.
What You Will Do
- Oversee and coordinate projects through the Engineering Lab.
- Aid in the design and construction of prototypes, modifications to standard products and special sales orders.
- Coordinate special work orders through the Maintenance/Tool & Die area and Manufacturing.
- Conduct lab testing, which includes collecting and plotting data.
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting prototypes and/or products as well as offering suggestions for changes or improvements.
- Assist in the assembly of electronic and mechanical structures for test units.
- Meet the objectives outlined in our Safety Policy.
- Assist and support all Engineering teams as needed in laboratory and model shop functions.
- Assist in the acquisition and maintenance of tools.
- Check parts out of stock as needed for projects.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
** What We Are Looking For**
Education and Experience Level
- High school graduate with good mechanical aptitude and 0-5 years of experience as an Engineering Lab Technician (2+ years of experience working as a Lab Tech desired)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively as part of a project team
- Effectively use and maintain tools
- Experience in a manufacturing facility
- Soldering experience
- Experience in the use of mechanical and electrical measuring devices
Other
This position may require up to 1 week of domestic travel per year.
