Role Summary/Purpose:
The engineering department at Propulsion Technologies International (PTI) has the responsibility to develop tangible engineering solutions to aid in the performance of cleaning, inspection, maintenance, preventive maintenance and overhaul of aviation components based on commercial jet engine manufacturer FAA approved technical data. As an intern with PTI, you will be expected to support engineers and technicians in the development, fabrication, and testing of equipment developed by the team.
You will participate and drive continuous improvement projects, which includes but are not limited to improvement of procedures, practices, programs, fixture, tooling, process parameters, equipment etc. as assigned by the engineering leader.
Essential Responsibilities:
Typical duties for a broad range of programs include;
- Using SolidWorks to design hard masking
- Develop 3D printed tools and fixtures using in-house design software and 3D printing machines.
- New technology research as assigned
Students majoring in the following are encouraged to apply;

- Engineering Science
Engineering Internship students working at PTI will work on a 12-month long project with clear deliverables and performance metrics such as ROI, and measurable improvements in total component Turnaround Time (TAT) and On-Time Delivery (OTD). Once the project is completed, the intern will present the project to upper management for review.
PTI is committed to the educational advancement of all internships students and we are willing to adapt to student’s class schedules if they are currently enrolled.
This is a paid internship located in our Miramar, FL shop and we require a minimum of 20 hours of work per week. More hours could be required during summer terms
Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree from an accredited university or college or be currently enrolled junior or senior year of an undergraduate engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks and a variety of design software.
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Some Project Management skills desirable
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
