Are you a student looking for an exciting internship opportunity to kick start your career in a global leading chemical company? We are looking for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team. As an Engineering Intern you will be a part of our team, working to provide assistance and support in the day-to day tasks as well as gain insights and understanding of the full cycle of chemical engineering process.
- Project Duration: Up to 12 weeks (between late May - Mid August)
- Hours/Week: Up to 40 hours
- Gather information about plant equipment or operating records. Assemble data into spreadsheet or database.
- Conduct field verification, inspecting plant configuration to answer a specific question that relates to a safety, quality or improvement idea.
- Update / refine / improve software tools that we use to help operate the business.
- Help gather data and information required to bring a new technology product to the site.
- Identify and implement improvements in quality, reduced cost or enhanced operations. Responsible to define objectives, develop test methods, direct sample collection and evaluate results.
- Participate as the technical resource for the continuous improvement teams related to the assigned unit operations.
- Develop an understanding of the control systems used within assigned area. Updates process controls for batch recipes for routine maintenance, process improvements, and development of new products.
- Support and comply with all requirements of North Augusta Management Systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work in teams comprised of production and maintenance personnel.
- Fluent English is required.
- Currently in school or striving towards a career in the engineering field.
