ENGINEERING DRAFTSMAN

SUMMARY

Aurora Parts is seeking an experienced Engineering Draftsman to join our growing company filled with intelligent hardworking individuals that create a fun team atmosphere that is challenging and loaded with growth opportunities.  Our ideal candidate will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting or engineering and needs to be comfortable using 3D Modeling Software such as Solid Edge or Solid Works. Responsibilities include drafting new and existing products, support of procurement, product, and manufacturing processes, support of customer service and marketing, ensuring and improving product quality, efficiency and safety. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Produce drawing from layouts, sketches, 3D models or physical parts for manufacturing and assembly of aftermarket repair components, and release according to project
2. Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, completeness, and content to conform to company
3. Release completed drawings according to Aurora document release
4. Maintain and update drawing
5. Revise and update existing
6. Layout and design new products and tooling under direction of the Project and/or Design
7. Communicate, support, and achieve daily
8. Promote safety among all employees and

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. A minimum of a two year technical degree with coursework in technical
2. 1 to 3 years minimum of 3D CAD software experience, preferably with experience working in a sheet metal environment. Solid Edge experience a
3. A basic understanding of fabrication techniques and machining processes.
4. Must be proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and
5. Prefer to have knowledge of the heavy duty trailer and truck parts industry with a general understanding of those parts and their
6. Ability to multi-task between different projects and work quickly and

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

1. Generally works in an office environment
2. May be required to perform trailer audits
3. Is exposed to warehouse on a daily basis
4. Infrequent air and land travel may be required
5. Generally limited exposure to physical
