Engineering Mechanical Draftsman/Designer - Indiana

GEMCO Constructors, founded in July of 2014, is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Position Summary 

The Draftsman/Designer will be responsible for drafting and designing activities for the engineering operations and ensure that proper engineering procedures are followed.   

Primary Responsibilities and Duties 

• Attend project design meetings throughout the project duration. 
• Assist the project team with Model creation, drawing sheet set-up, file management, weekly file transmitting and record keeping, sharing data amongst the engineering team.  
• Assist the project team with modeling and producing the construction documents as lead by the project engineer.  
• Assist the Engineer of Record with design layout, ductwork sizing, multi-disciplinary coordination, and all associated task related to the production of construction drawings, shop fabrication drawings and deliverables to all collaborators.  
• Perform core production tasks using Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Word processor and Excel.   Tasks include but not limited to standard document generation, Revit family management and creation, and cad file cleanup as required.  
• Assist the Project Engineer with conducting existing building survey as assigned for renovation type projects.  
• Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvements to GEMCO drafting standards and library products of design. 
• Assist in delivering projects via mail or email as dictated by the project architect or G.C.

Requirements 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. 
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. 
• Occasional sight visits for various projects. 
• Role is 100% on site. 
• Occasional nights and weekends based on workload. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. 
• At least five years of related experience required. 

Physical Demands 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
