The Opportunity

If you are reading this, we could guess two things about you: You have an understanding of design principles and you love working with people. As our Engineering Design Support Specialist, you will provide support for the Process Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechanical Design Teams.

On a given day, you might find yourself:

• Prepare drawing packages completed by designers for release to manufacturing.
• Creates part numbers for new engineering and design components.  This requires working with engineers, designers, and/or purchasing to get the correct information for the part numbers.
• Loads material requisitions for engineering and design projects.
• Documents accurately and alters detailed engineering bill of materials to meet engineering changes.
• Assist senior designers, managers, and engineers with the review of customer’s layout drawings to ensure that they are following departmental drawing standards.
• Generate parts and BOMs for “make” assemblies.  Transfers the BOMs, drawings, etc. for the assemblies into the Vault (archive) system.  
• Provides support to maintain the project resource management system (LiquidPlanner) by entering project resource assignments, initiating time transfers into the ERP, and ensuring that adequate coordination exists between the engineering, design, purchasing, and project management teams. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

The Challenge

To thrive, you should:

• Have an Associates degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  A thorough understanding and ability to use all Microsoft software applications is required. Knowledge of ASME, BPE, and 3A material requirements and industrial mechanical/electrical components is preferred. Ability to review project documentation requirements and ensure all materials meet requirements. Understand manufacturing processes and capabilities. Ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects. Basic level of proficiency working with ERP and file archiving systems is preferred.
