Job Summary
The CADD Technician prepares drawings using both AutoCad and Microstation for project plans, documents, reports and exhibits. The work will generally encompass all aspects of civil engineering such as municipal/public works, site development and highways and bridges, etc. This is an hourly non-exempt from overtime position and may require working more than 40 hours per week.
Essential Job Functions:
- Able to prepare engineering documents using AutoCAD and/or Microstation software platforms.
- Able to evaluate client CAD specifications and set up the CAD structure to meet those requirements.
- Able to successfully adhere to company CAD standards, files, details etc.
- Able to perform quantity take offs
- Able to prepare drawings for exhibits and reports including non-technical presentations.
- Able to prepare and assemble project delivery packages
- Able to perform project assignments within the time and schedule allocations provided
- Able to manage multiple projects at various stages at any given time (multi-task)
- Able to communicate clearly with other company personnel, including Field Staff, Project Managers, and Leadership via telephone and email.
- Able to stay on task, and move to next task with little oversight (self-starter)
- Able to consistently report to work on-time
Additional Job Duties
- May assist in basic office administrative functions.
- Other activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, secondary education with concentration on CADD Technology preferred.
- Three years minimum experience in Civil Engineering environment
- Thorough knowledge of both AutoCad and Microstation software packages and applications. (Other applications such as GIS or design software knowledge are a plus.)
- Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screenings
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
