Make an impact on this beautiful community with complex, varied projects. Work in a team environment interacting with residents, elected officials, contractors, and consultants. This position collaborates closely with other City sections like Community Development, Streets, Water & Sewer, Forestry, and City Hall.
Starting Salary Range: $79,432 - $89,689, Depending on Qualifications

- Oversight and management of CIP infrastructure projects, inspection of residential improvements, and review of private-permit plans.
- Performing field surveys and engineering studies.
- Computation of quantities of earth work, paving material, concrete and other construction material.
- Develop and design municipal capital improvement projects relating to pavement resurfacing, sanitary and storm sewers, watermains, and parking lots.
- Perform detailed cost estimating of projects, as well as assisting with the annual budget process.
- Preparation of plans, specifications, and contracts for municipal construction projects.
- Perform research of records such as plats of survey and plats of subdivision.
- Corresponding with and responding to contractors and residents.
- Work on various projects and initiatives, such as:
- Pavement patching, resurfacing, and sidewalk projects
- Vehicle and pedestrian bridges
- Storm sewer replacement, sewer lining, and water main upgrade projects
- Intersection widening projects
- Working knowledge of field surveys, project design, developing plans and specifications, construction inspection, and construction management
- Proven experience moving municipal infrastructure projects and the capital improvements process from start to finish (Municipal engineering experience highly desirable)
- Experience coordinating and communicating with contractors, engineers, and/or property owners
- CAD (Microstation, GEOPAK) experience, highly desirable
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering or project management

Starting Salary Range: $79,432 - $89,689 Depending on Qualifications
Full Salary Range: $79,432 - $110,204 Annual Progression Based on Merit
