- Responsible for safety finite element analysis of crash modes for new products, ensuring innovative and optimized solutions for Scout trucks and SUVs.
- Participate in collaborative design and creation of a simulation environment for testing new body system concepts and ideas related to vehicle handling, safety features, and overall driving experience.
- Develop prototypes for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
- Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
- Contribute to the design of production facilities for body systems of the Scout trucks & SUVs.
- Manage resources efficiently including infrastructure, financial, supplier partners and people.
- Be a key member and decision maker within the technical leadership team and liaison with all Scout functions.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events occasionally. The role will be based at our office in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and be able to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in safety areas and relevant automotive assignments.
- Skilled in utilizing CATIA for designing and developing detailed parts.
- Strong technical skills and expertise in safety and simulation, coupled with a 1st principles approach to problem solving.
- Understanding of controls and simulating functions
- Awareness of Software programing strategies
- Non-linear finite element analysis and correlation capability.
- Program experience in analysis and testing.
- An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels.

This is a full-time, exempt position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary = $120,000-$140,000
