Woolpert is currently searching for a Water Resources EIT or Environmental Scientist candidate for the Orlando, FL office. This candidate will support our growing Water Analysis Team in Central Florida. Specifically, this candidate will support surface water (i.e., streams and lakes) quality and quantity monitoring, data collection, and analysis services.
- Perform complex functions, advanced field data collection, and troubleshooting for a variety of water resource-related projects.
- Project work will include, but not be limited to, field data collection, data quality control, data analysis, regulatory compliance, report writing, NPDES stormwater program implementation, introductory hydrologic and hydraulic (H&D) modeling, plan reviews, sanitary sewer flow analysis.and more.
- Communicating and presenting data and reports to the team.
- Approximately 20-40% of the candidate’s time will be spent in the field, periodically in wet weather conditions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or life sciences field.
- Proficiency is Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to perform fieldwork, office work, and local travel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Working knowledge of hydrologic principles and calculations
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic hybrid-work environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from data analysis, data collation, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish project objectives.
- Experience and confidence with working in and around water.
- Able to swim.
- Ability to communicate well in a virtual environment.
Other Qualifications:
- Candidate must be highly motivated, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and excel in a multidiscipline project team environment.
- Working knowledge and experience with State and Federal protection regulations and guidelines is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ESRI softwareis preferred
- Experience with low-voltage equipment and ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions is preferred.
- Working knowledge of stormwater and erosion and sediment control design principles is preferred.
- Candidate must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record, as required by our insurance company, must be able to travel overnight and/or out of town, and be able to work overtime as required.
