Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed software design.
Role and Responsibilities
Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed software design. Perform Hadoop technical development and implementation for software. Load from disparate data sets by leveraging various big data technologies, including Kafka framework. Perform pre-processing for software data using Hive, Impala, Spark, and Pig. Perform design and implement data modeling for software design. Maintain security and data privacy in a secured software environment using Kerberos and LDAP. High-speed querying using in-memory technologies such as Spark. Follow and contribute best software engineering practices for source control, release management, and deployment. Perform production support, job scheduling/monitoring, ETL data quality, data freshness reporting.
Skills and Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related role. In Lieu of a Master's degree and 2 years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related role. Applicants must have 2 years of experience (5 years of experience in possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree) in the following: (1) Hadoop (PLATFORM) for crunching volumes of data; (2) PYTHON or SCALA (language) with SPARK - to create data science framework; (3) KERBEROS/ LDAP - for authenticating access to the big data applications; and (4) AWS platform for scaling the compute power in cloud.
