a day in the life
As a mid level engineer on the team that owns the Design System/Pattern Library for the web shop experience, you’ll…
- interface across dozens of engineering and design teams that use the Design System and pattern library
- ensure the UI pattern library is built with measurable and impactful capabilities and tooling
- make incremental improvements to the Design System with the goal of improving usage and adoption
- provide support and training to dependent teams who are pulling from and building into the UI pattern library
- play a key role in helping the organization reach our accessibility and brand compliancy goals and maintain them going forward
- integrate and automate new accessibility tools into the team build process
- spend time maintaining, updating, and documenting core parts of the system that enable seamless usage and increase adoption
- 2-4 years experience as a FE engineer on an enterprise team building large scale Single Page Web Applications built in React, JavaScript, Node.js, Webpack and Next.js
- Experience writing high quality CSS/SASS and HTML for reusable components
- Experience with application observability, metrics driven development, system-level design, performance
- Experience with DevOps: AWS, CI/CD experience, Terraform, Gitlab pipelines
- Monorepo experience a plus - we use Rush
- Storybook experience a plus
- Nice to have: Familiar with WCAG Accessibility standards, measurement tools (Deque Axe, JAWS, etc) and usage tools (ex. screen readers, caret browsing, etc)
