General Role Overview
At the heart of Fisker’s visionary product lies a state-of-the-art powertrain, and you can play a central role in its delivery.
The Engineer, HV Powertrain Mechanical Design Release is responsible for the development and integration of powertrain systems and components. It requires a detail-oriented with can do attitude individual with excellent communication skills and technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and adaptive person that contributes strong technical expertise to a fast-paced engineering team.
Fisker is a fast-moving technologically focused startup, and in this context, you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the rapidly developing requirements at the leading edge of EV powertrain implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in the Mechanical Design and development of state-of-the-art Powertrain and Battery systems.
Supplier management and coordination for Powertrain systems and components.
Develop and approve DFMEAs and DVP&Rs for Powertrain components / systems and interface to other modules.
Develop solutions and resolve mechanical interface issues with other components.
Work closely with block leaders to package and integrate systems into vehicle environment.
Design ancillary brackets to support component mounting to the Powertrain and Chassis.
Work closely with CAE team to create solutions to meet vehicle crash, durability, and mass targets.
Analyze FEA reports and work with CAE engineers to confirm strength of components.
Work with validation group to detail necessary tests and pass / fail criteria for prototype evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. Master of Science is preferred.
4 years of relevant professional experience in new product development for Automotive Powertrain.
Minimum 2- 3 years of relevant professional experience supporting powertrain integration and design.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies
Strong experience in 3D CAD design and PLM software (CATIA V5 / V6 is preferred).
High level of interpersonal skills and works effectively with cross-cultural teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong analytical ability.
Excellent knowledge of GD&T fundamentals.
Experience with DFM best practices for cast and extrusion methods.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant professional with Automotive Driveline products is a plus.
Additional Requirements
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.
Working Conditions
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

Expected Salary Range: $55,020 - $153,270 a year.
Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
