Responsibilities:
- Unique specification package provided to customers.
- Permits by local governing agencies.
- Process to obtain a meter installation.
- Construction crew scheduling.
- Limitations of construction crews' abilities with regard to equipment/Client
Familiarity with all, but not limited to, the following:
- Civil, AutoCAD, and Technical Drawings
- Riser Diagrams
- GIS Maps
- Invoices
- Estimate reports.
- Equipment (i.e. iPhone, Measuring wheel, company radio, hammer, wood stakes, spray paint)
- Software Application (i.e. PSERM, CC&B, AutoCAD, ePets, Arc-Reader, ARM360)
- Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices, and procedures
- Able to calculate amperage on both sides of meter for wiring/xfmr sizing, voltage drop, and fault current.
- Understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records.
- Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).
Working Conditions:
This job may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock, work in confined places, and insects.
Physical Requirements:
This job requires standing, walking, sitting, bending/stooping, repetitive motions, reaching over head, climbing (i.e. stairs, hills, ladders, etc.), and may lift up to twenty (20) pounds. This job requires speaking and hearing, typing, writing, detailed inspection, and may drive a company vehicle.
Skills Required:
- Electrical Distribution projects from development stage through completion
- Analyze future projects from a distribution electrical engineering perspective by preparing designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates for construction work, and documents. Oversee projects and manage capital projects from start to finish providing electric service to new and existing customers.
Primary Functions:
- Prepare designs, plans/specifications, and documents for Electric Distribution Projects.
- Complete cost estimates for Electric Distribution Projects.
- Manage Electrical Distribution projects from development stage through completion.
- Analyze Electrical Plans for new project developments (i.e. Commercial/Residential).
- Review completed projects by comparing actual costs with the estimated costs and verify the accuracy of new infrastructure placed within OUC Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping system.
- Resolve conflicts with multiple parties including OUC customers, contractors, governmental agencies, and internal employees.
- Inspect Distribution Infrastructure installed by private contractors and OUC contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Required:
- 5 years' experience as a Project Engineer.
- Utility Distribution Engineer, with focus in road projects (RGB's), RGB's stands for Red-Green and Brown. When FDOT is widening a road they request for us the RGB's, thus basically RGB's are a set of plans to show if we have any conflicts with our electric infrastructure. Experience in road widening projects.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or directly related engineering degree, from an accredited college or university.
