PAY: Min $120,000.00 Max $160,000.00 The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. The Level 2 Energy Engineer reports to the Director of Technical Development and will have the opportunity for supporting the development of guaranteed energy efficiency projects, renewable energy projects, and other energy savings related capital improvement projects. The energy efficiency projects work will be focused on the multiple market sectors and will encompass forms of state enabling legislation for energy contracting vehicles, and entail all forms of energy, water, and emission savings technologies.
With minimal supervision, this individual will identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, HVAC controls, building envelope, renewable energy, and other technologies that save energy, water, and reduce GHG emissions.
Responsibilities include utility bill analysis, performing site visits, developing energy savings calculations and Measurement & Verification baselines, plans, and approaches, developing preliminary analysis, and investment grade audits. Individual will also be responsible for subcontractor / vendor qualification, negotiation, and management during the energy project development phase, validating scope of work, calculations, and written descriptions of energy conservation measures in support of various agency submittals.
The Energy Engineer will work closely with the ABM Technical Solutions Business Development and Construction Teams on proposal development and will participate in various customer meetings and presentations as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the sales and development staff to screen and qualify the feasibility of energy efficiency and capital improvement opportunities. This may involve attending customer meetings, conducting site trips to collect facility and utility data; and developing and running energy screening models to determine the technical and economic viability of energy efficiency and capital improvement projects. Screening models include: bin analyses, hourly building simulation computer models, and commercially-available analysis packages.
- Develop, define and dimension technically and economically feasible applications by performing preliminary engineering/design, project metering and measurements of critical parameters.
- Coordinate with external vendors, manufacturers, and contractors to develop designs and technical proposals for solutions and services.
- Support analyses and generation of applications for utility rebates associated with energy efficiency projects.
- Support proposal development including measurement and verification methodology and development, utility billing analysis, and detailed supporting documentation of simulation results, and savings derivations.
- Provide assistance to ABM Construction Group to support implementation of projects, as required.
- Draft, review, and evaluate contract documents, drawings, & schedules
- Support the preparation of technical drawings, documents, and specifications by subcontractors to the extent required
- Based on Clients budget constraints for any specific project, carrying out value engineering studies.
