Kiwi Country Day Camp is actively seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our healthcare team for the 2024 summer season.
Position Highlights:
As an EMT at Kiwi Country Day Camp, you play a crucial role in creating a secure and caring environment for our campers and staff. We are seeking applicants who not only bring expertise in emergency medical response but also possess a passion for working with children.
Qualifications:
- EMT certification
- Experience working with children in a healthcare setting
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Patience and empathy for young individuals
- License as required by NY state
- CPR certified
- Current First Aid certification
- Desire to contribute to the well-being of children and young adults
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient clinical skills for swift emergency medical decisions
- Effective communication with parents, staff, and administration regarding camper health concerns
- Detail-oriented and computer-savvy
- Strong phone skills
- Ability to lift/assist campers and staff
- Physical endurance to meet emergency needs
Duties:
- Collaborate in setting up the health center
- Review and organize camper medical records before camp
- Administer and monitor medication
- Assess campers for illness and injury
- Document all health center visits
- Communicate with parents and camp administrators
- Respond promptly to any medical emergencies
Availability:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Camp Season: June 27 - Aug 16
