Your primary responsibilities will include assisting clients in finding job opportunities, facilitating volunteer work, developing essential job skills, refining resumes, conducting mock interviews, and offering guidance on appropriate work attire. Job Duties:
JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE:
- Collaborate with clients to identify suitable job opportunities based on their skills, interests, and abilities.
- Research potential employers, job openings, and vocational training programs in the community.
- Assist clients in completing job applications, preparing cover letters, and submitting resumes.
VOLUNTEER WORK COORDINATION:
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities tailored to clients' interests and goals.
- Provide guidance and support during volunteer placements, ensuring clients develop relevant skills and experiences.
ONGOING SUPPORTING & COACHING:
- Offer continuous support to clients throughout their employment journey, addressing challenges and barriers as they arise.
- Collaborate with employers to ensure a supportive and inclusive work environment for clients.
- Provide coaching and encouragement to promote self-advocacy, independence, and workplace success.
JOB SKILLS DEVELOPMENT:
- Design and implement individualized training plans to enhance clients' job-related skills, such as communication, time management, and task completion.
- Conduct job readiness workshops and provide hands-on training in workplace etiquette, safety protocols, and job-specific tasks.
RESUME BUILDING AND INTERVIEW PREPARATION:
- Assist clients in creating professional resumes that highlight their strengths and accomplishments.
- Conduct mock interviews to help clients practice answering common interview questions and develop confidence.
- Provide feedback and guidance on interview techniques, communication skills, and appropriate attire.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in special education, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a similar capacity strongly desired.
- Knowledge of job search strategies, vocational training programs, and community resources.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to diverse needs and learning styles.
