Total Care Services, Inc. has been serving residents of the District of Columbia since 2003. Our DC (District of Columbia) team services and support people with disabilities of all ages. The Human Resources Generalist (Employee Relations) supports and handles the administrative duties related to Human Resources as well as plays in integral role in participating in the corrective action process for employees. Comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process.

Compensation Package:

  • Yearly Salary: $85,000

We are Searching for a Human Resources Generalist (Employee Relations) who is:

  • Professional – this position requires professionalism and maturity as it has access to confidential information.
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws - a thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations is crucial for ensuring that the organization complies with legal requirements. This includes knowledge of labor laws, discrimination laws, and other relevant regulations.
  • Mediation and Conflict Resolution - the ability to mediate conflicts and resolve workplace disputes is a key skill. This involves being impartial, diplomatic, and finding solutions that are fair and acceptable to all parties involved.
  • Employee Counseling - providing guidance and support to employees facing personal or professional challenges is an important aspect of Employee Relations. This requires a non-judgmental approach and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Sense of Urgency – understands the impact of being an active partner regarding HR matters for the organization.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping - maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of employee interactions, disciplinary actions, and other relevant information is essential for legal compliance and organizational transparency.
  • Confidentiality – understands and complies with HIPAA laws.
  • Dedication – TCS’s level of excellence requires the commitment of our staff to our clients and the services provided.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Detail-Oriented – We pay close attention to and notice minor details.
  • Technologically savvy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Employee Relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law.
  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.)
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM, etc.) preferred or must obtained within one (1) year from date of employment.

Work Schedule: 8:30am- 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Work Environment: This position reports to our corporate office in person for the first 45 to 90 days of training and moves to hybrid schedule after approval of Director of Human Resources (3 days in office/2 days remote.)
