MUST:
4+ years of experience in the Human Resource Field
2+ years experience focusing on Employee Relations and investigations
Handling detailed investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination and/or policy violations
Experience preparing replies for EEOC claims
Administer and oversee ADA requests
Writing up detailed Employee Relations reports
Experience supporting staff with disciplinary actions, and conflict management issues
Tracking data for Employee Relations activities
Handling exit interviews
Understanding of employments laws in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia
Providing general Human Resources support
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Certification a plus
Bachelors Degree (in Human Resources preferred)
DUTIES:
The duties of the Employee Relations specialist include but are not limited to the following:
Administer Employee Relations functions
Administer and oversee ADA requests
Conduct investigations
Lead special projects.
Support staff with disciplinary actions, and conflict management issues
Update HR policies to align with changes in employment laws and company needs.
Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination and/or policy violations.
Prepare detailed investigation reports and make recommendations
Conduct exit interviews and summarize findings
Collect information and prepare replies for EEOC claims, unemployment, employment verifications or any employment law related court cases, charges or complaints.
Coordinates and/or facilitates the preparation of employee engagement activities, parties, events and other work-related functions.
Track data for Employee Relations activities and trend analysis.
Handle yearly projects including labor law poster updates, service awards and flu vaccination compliance.
Monitor and process cases related to the Employee Relations department.
Provide support with various HR functions including recruitment, benefits, and payroll to ensure customer satisfaction
