Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Provides oversight in the day-to-day operations and staffing aspects of the Employee Fitness Center, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively. Responsible for coordinating fitness programs, managing facility maintenance, and providing excellent customer service to employees and customers utilizing the center. Works closely with the Manager to develop and implement strategies to enhance employee wellness initiatives. Provides staff and student assistant oversight, training and development.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversees the daily operations of the Fitness Center, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, managing equipment inventory, and maintaining fitness and wellness records
2. Assists Manager with budgetary parameters, membership promotion, report analysis, and facility safety
3. Ensures the cleanliness, safety and functionality of all equipment. Coordinates regular maintenance checks and promptly addresses any issues or repairs as needed. Maintains equipment records
4. Assists in the purchasing and/or replacement of facility equipment per established guidelines
5. Provides members with exercise prescriptions and health and fitness testing
6. Assists in implementation and training on new fitness management platform and fitness retention software
7. Assists in promoting, implementing and evaluating health education programs, events, online social media marketing based upon Employee Wellness needs and requests
8. Assists with overseeing, training, mentoring, and hiring of center staff and/or student assistants
9. May provide professional, engaging, and effective group fitness classes to members and class participants
10. Responds to suggestions, concerns and complaints in a timely, professional, and consistent manner
11. Focuses on members¿ goals and results by offering alternative movements to accommodate different fitness levels
12. Provides status reports monthly or as requested
13. Assists in the development, training and implementation of center policies, procedures and standards
14. Acts as department manager when manager is not available

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Other Required Qualifications
Adult CPR & ADED certification (AHA or Red Cross) or able to obtain within six (6) months of employment
Required Experience
Three (3) years of wellness program or fitness facility administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Exercise Physiologist Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine
Group Exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA or other nationally accredited specialty class certification
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in business management, kinesiology, or health/sport related field

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
