Education: This position requires Highschool Diploma or equivalent. EMT or AEMT certification required. Alternatively, a combination of formal education and relevant work experience may be considered alternative to a degree.
Experience: 1 – 2 years EMT, AEMT, Paramedic preferred.
Special Skills & Knowledge: Candidates should have the following skills and attributes: must be able to work and communicate well with people; be adaptable, and accept changes quickly and easily; be willing to address conflict appropriately. Basic computer skills are required with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based products knowledge a bonus.

Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Within scope of job, utilizes critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, using critical thinking skill and decisive judgement within the scope of the role.
- Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the exam room; providing gowns, drapes and preparing instruments, equipment and necessary supplies.
- Completes a variety of medical services including verifying patient information; reviewing and updating pertinent medical records; and documenting interventions.
- Performs medical procedures as delegated including, but not limited to; medication administration, obtaining vital signs, performing CPR, EKGs, splint application, phlebotomy, and IV access.
- Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to medical/nursing staff.
- Assists health care providers during examinations; prepares laboratory specimens; performs basic testing; disposes of contaminated supplies and cleans or prepares for sterilization of medical instruments.
- Assists in balancing workloads, coordinates and maintains clinical flow by coordinating with care providers.
- Provides standardized education for patients and families through written and verbal instructions and answering questions as directed by the provider.
- Provides basic airway and respiratory management.
- Serves as preceptor and mentor to other team members.
- Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and standards of regulatory bodies. Maintains requirements for licensure, certifications and skills maintenance.
