Job Summary
Under general supervision and according to Tampa General Hospital's policies and procedures the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide patient assessment and assist with patient care based upon patient age and developmental level utilizing departmental medical protocols and standards. Performs in the scope practice of an EMT and Standards established by the medical director, and which are based on State and Federal Laws of EMT Practice. Required to utilize radio, phone, computer, and other electronic systems to coordinate patient care. Assists with implementing care according to protocol and documents assessments, identifies and reports situations requiring intervention, communicates goals and a directed plan of care; assures patients' rights are supported. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. Collaborates and supports the registered nursing staff.
Emergency Medical Technician Certification, BLS.
A minimum of 2-3 years EMT transport experience
EVOC required or equivalent. Can obtain once hired.
