Emergency Medical Technician

Position: Emergency Medical Technician

WAGE: $45,958 - $56,576

Location: Arcadia, FL

*Main Base: HIGHLANDS; 201 Commercial Ct, Sebring, FL

* All interviews, orientations, and trainings are held at Main base.

Duties:

- Provide Emergency Medical care to patients in a pre-hospital setting
- Assess and manage patients' airways, including performing intubations and administering oxygen
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses
- Perform physical examinations to identify signs of trauma or medical conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by medical protocols
- Safely transport patients to the hospital while providing ongoing care and monitoring
- Perform venipuncture and start intravenous (IV) lines as needed
- Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly

Skills:

- Proficient in airway management techniques, including intubation and oxygen administration
- Strong patient assessment skills to quickly identify and prioritize treatment needs
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to understand the underlying mechanisms of injuries and illnesses
- Ability to perform physical examinations to assess patients' conditions
- Competent in basic life support (BLS) techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Familiarity with triage protocols to effectively prioritize patients based on the severity of their conditions
