Job Description
The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is hiring full-time and per diem EMTs who are looking for a change of pace and a regular schedule in a structured environment at our Main Institution in Ludlow and Western Massachusetts Regional Women's Correctional Center in Chicopee. The EMTs will work with a variety of healthcare professionals and security personnel in a correctional environment.
Be an EMT with the Sheriff's Office and provide meaningful care to our justice-involved individuals including withdrawal management, checking vital signs, Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale, Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol, admission intake screenings, and on-site emergency responses.

Work Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Three (3) 12-hour shifts (7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m.) plus one (1) 4-hour shift
REQUIREMENTS
- Massachusetts Basic EMT certificate or higher
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years field experience as an EMT
- CPR/AED and First Aid certified
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must pass drug screening and medical clearance
- Must pass criminal background check
