Pay Range: $50K-$65K per year
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in emergency management or related field (such as Public Health or Public Policy) required, or equivalent experience in Emergency Management and/or Non-Profit Program Management required
Minimum 5 years EDS/Emergency Management Experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle record check
- Must be able to work on an "on-call" basis as nature of ministry is emergency based, includes nights and weekends. Hours may be long during disaster events.
- Must be able to work longer hours when a larger response is needed
- Ability to complete work independently and autonomously, as well as part of a team
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have great planning, coordinating, organizational and managerial skills
- Must be able to effectively deal with public relations and possess good presentation skills especially during high-stress emergency settings
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive disaster vehicle safely at any time
- Must have basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to travel on disaster assignments within and outside of MA when needed.
- Preferably needs to live near Greater Boston, Mass Bay area or in Eastern MA
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordination and support of an effective Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services delivery system for disaster and crisis needs both in the Greater Boston/Mass Bay area, as well as in support of other events in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
