General Manager
Lucky Stitch is looking for an experienced and motivated General Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in leading and managing teams. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our embroidery division, including financial performance, customer service, sales, marketing, operations, and personnel management. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions quickly and efficiently.
Objectives of this Role:
- Maintain constant communication with customers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the division.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols.
- Enhance and maintain the internal capacity of the organization by improving the efficiency of both current and required organizational processes and procedures.
- Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives.
- Develop a Social Media Strategy.
- Learn and leverage our online ordering system/ ecommerce platform.
- Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
- Track staffing requirements and hire new employees as needed.
- Explore growth opportunities by reaching out to new businesses to promote our products, thereby expanding our presence and boosting our sales.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and support a small team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment.
- Provide direction and guidance to the production department by effectively communicating the goals and objectives set forth by the company.
- Manage quality and quantity of employees to maximize productivity.
- Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Oversee materials and inventory management.
- Conduct negotiations with contractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure best price.
- Ensure production complies with established quality control specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with sales staff to implement strategies that will improve the marketability of manufactured products.
- Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
- Conduct employee probationary and annual performance reviews.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in an operations management position.
- Strong budget development and oversight skills.
- Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to respond to frequent pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of management software programs, including Tajima Pulse or Wilson Embroidery Studio.
- Strong IT skills.
- Multiple years of financial and account reporting.
- Graphic Design knowledge an asset but not a requirement.
