GridPoint is looking for a Test Technician to join our engineering team. The Embedded Test Technician will perform functional testing of firmware and hardware products. This individual will be responsible for the execution of test plans, the building of test fixtures, the documentation of executed tests, and working closely with the embedded firmware/hardware teams in developing and executing tests.
Responsibilities:
- Perform functional tests on products to determine non-functioning features
- Perform wiring, soldering, and assembly based on schematics
- Based on product specifications, design, build and manage test systems/ environments to support new and existing hardware products
- Design and implement tests (manual and automated) to stress and qualify equipment operation
- Support multiple projects in flight, provide status updates to team members and bring to light progress blocking issues in a timely fashion
- Document product defects clearly and concisely and provide support driving them to closure
- Work closely with team members, Embedded Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers and Embedded Test Engineers
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Engineering, Electronics Technology, or equivalent
- Capable of reading electrical schematics
- Basic soldering skills
- Capable of operating a variety of lab test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, power meters)
- Capable of evaluating and troubleshooting malfunctions in electronic products
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
