Embedded Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and validation of PCB electronics for our interior aircraft electrical systems through all the phases of the project including preliminary design, development, certification and product support.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and own high and low voltage designs of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) designs.
  • Schematic capture.
  • PCB layout and routing.
  • PCA integration, test, and debug.
  • Establish firmware, software, hardware interface requirements to satisfy overall product performance goals.
  • Performs circuit simulation, worst-case analysis and derating analysis.
  • Support design risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  • Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
  • Proficient in simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, PSpice, LTSpice or similar.
  • Field failure analysis and implement solutions to continuously improve the quality of our products in the field.
  • Collaborates with Systems and SW engineers to investigate failures and identify solutions during system integration testing.
  • Experience creating test plans to validate circuits against requirements.
  • Implement test set ups and perform design verification testing; perform troubleshooting to identify design issues and test set up issues.
  • Collaborates with certification test engineers to identify failures and solutions during certification approvals.

Basic Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
  • MS or BS in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Years of Experience: 8 years of experience in embedded hardware design

Desired Requirements:
  • FMEA and FMECA experience
  • Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160, RTCA/DO-178 and RTCA/DO-254 processes is a plus
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as IBM Doors or Polarion.
  • Agile development knowledge
  • Altium Designer proficiency
  • PSpice familiarity
  • Power supply experience desired
  • Aerospace experience is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
